September Project Update

I wanted to make sure I had an accurate accounting of where we are before I posted a new update. As I mentioned on the prior update, we're working through some delays, which unfortunately set us back a few months.
This is unfortunately one of our longest delays. We do have an amazing team of writers, but real-life events and scheduling changes has made it difficult to get some of the drafts finished and tested. Fortunately, we are much further ahead than we were on the last update. Here's a rundown of what we have done and what we're still working on:
Prologue and Chap 1
Chapters 2 though 4
Chapters 8, 9 & 10
Delayed (In Process)
Chapters 5, 6, 7
NPC/Threat Appendices (requires completion of the other chapters)
We're on a very good schedule with illustrations. Because we are still waiting on some of the finalized adventure info, there are still a few art commissions and maps that are on hold.
The final layout template is completed and ready to go for edited chapters. It will be also be included with an updated version of "The Final Command" intro section.

We're excited to see so many sign-ups for the playtest! We're attempting to spread the love as much as possible, so if you haven't been contacted yet, it doesn't necessarily mean you missed out. There are still a few sections left to go. :)

Hello all! Here's the latest update on where we are with project development.
As noted in our prior update, we've been working to catch up on delays due to a few of our authors and illustrators who became unavailable through unforeseen circumstances.
Writing and Editing
Several drafts were delayed for a while, but it looks like we're finally back on track with the design workload being redistributed. Again, as mentioned in the previous update, our timeline has been moved up a few months, with the product expected to be completed in the Fall of this year. The website has also been updated with the latest project stats and new estimated release times.
The good news is we now have a majority of the drafts completed and in review before being sent into editing, with just a few chapters still outstanding.
Illustrations and Cartography
We found some extremely talented illustrators to take over work on the remaining open commissions. We also still have a few more maps to develop and anticipate getting them in by the time we start putting the text into layout.
As promised for each update, here's a preview map of the Realm of Kammria, by Marco Bernadini.
We had a fantastic time at Origins Game Fair in June. Our next convention will be at Gen Con 2022 on August 4th-7th. When we're not running events, myself and the rest of the Alligator Alley Entertainment team can be found in the Exhibit Hall in booth 2029. Please come by and say hello!

Updates, Art, and a new partner project!

Just a quick update on where we are and what's on the horizon.
Writing and Playtests
The first sets of received drafts are going through review. We're still waiting on a few sections to be completed. Last week at Origins, we played through Greg's Arkenvale scenario and had a blast.
Submissions for the beta playtest are now closed. Playtesters selected to participate will be contacted directly with further information.
Two of our primary artists have been kept busy with extended obligations until at least the end of the month. This includes the art requests for our Exemplar level backers. To prevent even further delay, we've been tracking down some other talented artists who are able to pick up some of the open commissions.
As promised, I'll be highlighting select pieces from each of our artists and cartographers.
More Dark Fantasy, you say?
The gang at Alligator Alley Entertainment has partnered with Atthis Arts, Norse Foundry, and award-winning game designer, Aaron Rosenberg, to develop the world of Grayshade. This grimdark urban setting is based on The Dark Assassin Trilogy conceived from the mind of Gregory A. Wilson.

We've made a focused effort this past month to schedule draft and art releases while we look toward our production schedule for the Summer. Some section drafts are nearing completion with a few delayed and others complete and currently under review before being sent out for editing.
Illustrations and Maps
We've brought on some amazing illustrators to craft the visual imagery for our strange new world. With each update, I'll be (sparingly) posting some works-in-progress for everyone get a feel for what's in store. Below are a couple of WIP illustrations from Jenny Eickbush!

Playtest Sign-ups and Convention Events
Signups for becoming a beta playtester are still open. Visit the EG Facebook Page or the #announcements channel in the Official Discord Server for details. The sign-up link is also available in the most recent newsletter for mailing list subscribers.
The AAE team will also be at the Origins Game Fair in June, and at Gen Con in July. We'll be hosting some special events at Gen Con, including a live test run of the Planetfall and Crisis on Kammria chapters from the Expedition campaign!

Project Status and Timeline

Thanks everyone for your patience, as I know we haven't updated in a while. We've had a lot of moving parts with unexpected turns, so I wanted to get a good grasp of where we were before posting.
Due to changes in availability, life events, and in one case, a family tragedy, we hit a few scheduling delays all at once. Thankfully, most of these delays are temporary, but it took us a bit longer than expected to get everything back on track.
That being said, we've had to push many of the draft deadlines forward by a couple of months. This also pushes back some of the artwork/cartography. Because of this, our planned release is going to be delayed likely until the mid-Summer instead of late Spring, as we originally planned.
We're still going to do our best to keep as close as possible to our original release date. If we can get it done sooner, we will, but as many of our gamers already know, we strive for delivering quality over a rushed product.
Even with production delays, we still want to provide content that can be used while backers await the finished product. Once new sections go into playtesting, we'd like to send out preview copies of the text upon finished, edited text.
Special Backer Rewards
The Last Command: First day backers should have already received the intro adventure, The Final Command. An updated version will be uploaded into BackerKit by tomorrow. Please keep an eye out for it in your emails.
Exemplar Submissions: Backers who pledged at the Exemplar level should have received an email requesting additional information regarding their survey submissions. If you haven't received an email, please let us know right away.
Within the next week, an invite form will become available to sign-up for open playtesting. Existing backers and members of our EG community are welcome to participate, pending an agreement of non-disclosure and Code of Conduct.
The sign-up link will be available to prior playtesters and users on our mailing list, as well as anyone that has joined our official Facebook group, or Discord server.
